A Winter Wedding on Mont Blanc

It is the second time for us to reach the very top of Mont Blanc with a legal civil ceremony, and we are proud of that!
We were there back in July 2019 with Kajsa and Marcus’ wedding, if you remember our past blog posts. That was indeed a snow wedding on a glacier but in Summer!
This time we reached the top of Mont Blanc in Winter just at the beginning of this year. So James and Anne’s wedding was a real Winter Wedding on Mont Blanc!

Reaching the roof of Europe – Pointe Helbronner

Anne and James love mountains and winter sports and activities. After reading our stories about the winter weddings we planned in the Alps, they connected with us.

They fell in love with Mont Blanc, and they decided to have their wedding on the very top of it in January.

So after a crazy wedding planning during a pandemic-ISH time, we made it happen.

Thanks to incredible technological prodigy Skyway, we could reach the very top of Mont Blanc: Point Helbronner at 3466 mt above sea level! Can you imagine? A dream!

Skyway Monte Bianco is much more than a cableway. It’s the idea to take the man closer to the mountain and sky.

The cableway is located in Courmayeur, Aosta Valley. So the group started their day just there.Once ready, the small group of fewer than 10 people, including bride and groom, got on the gondola to reach the sky!

The trip was worth the experience! It is a fantastic way to see the mountains, snow, and the sky from a different point of view. While it goes up, the gondola turns 360 degrees, so the experience is whole!

Point Helbronner station is the third one. It is a 360-degree view from the circular terrace.

The station has different areas, and each of them was used for our unique winter wedding on Mont Blanc.

Legal Civil Ceremony in the Crystal Hall – Mont Blanc

The town hall of Courmayeur allows celebrating a legal civil ceremony at Pointe Helbronner. We opted for the Crystal Hall, where all the jewels of the mountains can be admired.While James and guests were waiting for her, Anne arrived in her pretty ivory and light blue dress. She was accompanied by the notes of a violin and a famous song by Nick Cave – bride and groom’s favorite.

Anne wore a light blue dress to honor the Glacier’s icy atmosphere. She had a pastel color bridal bouquet matching the centerpiece on the ceremony table in her hands.

Aperitif overlooking Mont Blanc Peaks

Bistrot Panoramic hosted the lovely aperitif after the ceremony.
We reserved a scenic area for the wedding group to enjoy a gourmet aperitif overlooking Mont Blanc peak.
A nice prosecco and some finger food to start the celebrations.
While the guests were still enjoying drinks and food, Anne and James took some time to take some fantastic pictures on the terrace of the station!
The view from there is simply majestic. The Alps are a source of incredible energy and good vibes, and that was the particular mood we all breathe on this special day. A fabulous winter wedding on Mont Blanc.

Wedding photos on the snow of the Glacier

At 4.30pm, the last trip to go back to Courmayeur leaves. So we took the chance to stop at the intermediate station: the pavilion. Here Anne and James and their guests took the opportunity to take some more photos directly on the snow. This is the essence of a Winter Wedding on Mont Blanc…. you have to put your feet in the snow!

Once in Courmayeur, the group got back to their hotel to get ready for their gourmand dinner in a fine restaurant of the village.

We all had a fantastic day at more than 4000mt!
