A Persian wedding in Langhe
This time we would like to tell you about a very different wedding!
Jerri and Tom came here in the heart of Langhe region for their special day from United States ad they arranged for sure on of the most elegant wedding on the season.
Jerri and Tom wanted a very different wedding. Tom is Persian and he wanted a traditional Persian ceremony but wanted to have it in a special setting: in the vines and in one of his favorite place in the world Langhe region.
Jerri and Tom love good wines and food and came here thanks to the advice of a good friend of theirs who deals with Piemonte wines exports in US.
They fell in love with this area and decided that this was the right place.
We worked a lot to re-create a Persian wedding in Langhe but at the end the result was great.
First of all the venue, after a long process we decided for Villa Althea one of the most amazing places in this area.
We have already spoken about the villa now you will see it from a brand new point of view!
Villa Althea is a 1800 villa now totally resorted to be a perfect wedding venue and and charming residence for a relaxing vacation with 7 rooms and unbelievable swimming pool.
Villa has an amazing garden full of flowers and plants. Jerri wanted to match these colors so she wanted flowers decoration to match all this.
She chose for red roses, purple lysianthus, red carnation and deep red peonies with some greenery too.
Have a look to the colors all together aren’t they grand?
Focal point of the wedding was the Persian ceremony as mentioned.
It was prepared in the garden overlooking the vines hills a perfect frame for a such important moment!
The celebrant was Tom’s father and this added a touch of deep emotion to it.
The ceremony table is called Sofreh and it needs to have on very important items.
Koran first of all with a special carpet under it.
Then there is a mirror, whole-nuts, two big crystals of sugar, a pot of Melograno, Persian sugared almonds, another pot of crystal of sugar, a box with honey and another box with rings, essence to burn and two special spiced breads, decorated eggs, some candles and a big fabric to lay on the bride and groom during the ceremony.
All these items have a special meaning during the ceremony.
It was all accompanied by Persian music. It was simply amazing!
Jerri and Tom pronounced their vows in this perfect setting together with their friends, family, following their traditions and embracing italian ones!
As the matter of fact after the ceremony Jerri and Tom had a lovely traditional Italian aperitif in the garden of the villa with pictures and toasts.
A very elegant dinner to follow was held in the elegant feast room of the villa.
Jerri wanted a big long table hosting all guests.
It was decorated with ten vases of flowers, hundreds of petals and many candles of different dimensions.
All guests finally could experience the same experience Jerri and Tom had: tasting wonderful Piemonte food and wines such as Barbaresco, Barolo and Arneis.
All was delicious!
Little details Jerri wanted were another little touch of charm.
Names cards were little butterflies on wine glasses, menu were decorated with crystals and as guests book Jerri decided to arrange a Piemonte post card each guests all scattered on a table. Every guests had the chance to literally send a post card to bride and groom. What a great idea!
After the dinner Jerri and Tom wanted a typical Piemonte dessert buffet instead of a traditional wedding cake.
They also entertained their guests with Persian and modern music to dance and after all….fly lanterns on the hills.
Make a wish and let it go in the air…….
