A Country Wedding in a Monferrato Castle
We remember we have already told you about this special country destination for other country weddings we planned, Paola and Gianluca and Federica and Eungerran’a wedding.
Today we are back here to tell you about Natalie and Sebastian’s wedding.
They chose a wonderful day of mid June to get married in this special venue overlooking Monferrato hills.
Monferrato is one of the most known country areas of Piemonte together with Langhe.
It is just here where most of the best wines of the region are produced such as Barbera, Grignolino and white Moscato.
The hills here are a little more gentle than ones in Langhe and panoramas are just amazing and very relaxing.
The castle Natalie and Sebastian chose for their wedding is Medieval. It is located close to lovely town of Asti. It was built by Roero family a very ancient family who also joined the Crusades. Just think about how much of history you can breath here!
The castle now is fully restored and side of a wedding venue is also a fine restaurant and hotel with about 14 rooms.
One of the best feature of the castle is that it is located just inside its pretty village few steps from parish church where you can have your religious ceremony.
But for the ones that prefer a legal civil ceremony – as Natalie and Sebastian – it can be arranged in the grounds of the venue itself! So handy for all! No transfers needed and you can have your ceremony and party all in the same place!
Natalie and Sebastian and their families got ready in the rooms of the hotels while other guests stayed in other hotels and B&B close by the hotel.
For heir civil ceremony the opted for the rear garden with a stunning view over the hills and ancient village. A moving country style ceremony!
After the ceremony Natalie and Sebastian took some time for their own.
They went out of the castle to reach the ancient village to take some very pretty wedding photos. You can admire some here. They are all by Lily and Frank Photos the photographers Natalie and Sebastian chose for their special day.
For their reception Natalie and Sebastian opted for a lunch inside the big room of the castle.
Once it was the armory of the Castle. It has a very special appeal with its walls with bricks and big arches.
After the meal there was a little break for all to refresh a little in a warm day of summer.
However as most of the brides would have done, Natalie did not get off her wedding dress!
When sun got down the real party begun with lot of dances and fun on the terrace of the castle.
A great fun outdoor for everybody… dancing overlooking the hills that a country way to end a relaxing wedding day on Monferrato hills!
